The modern world is full of all kinds of food temptations. At every stage we come across stores with bars, fries, rolls, pies and other things that seem to be tasty, but which will certainly lead sooner or later to diseases of the stomach and digestion ingeneral.
In ancient times, when such diseases occurred, the patient did not know the methods of treatment and led a habitual lifestyle, worsening his condition, which ultimately led to dire and sometimes even fatal consequences.
There are now many treatment options for gastrointestinal and gastrointestinal disorders. But in order to be successful with their treatment, you need to limit yourself and completely revise your usual diet.
What do we call gout?
Gout is a disease which is directly related to a disorder in the human body. With gout, the salts of uric acid are retained in the joint tissues, which leads to very serious consequences. Gout was first mentioned in the days when Hippocrates lived, and then there have been many of its manifestations.
Today, the disease is thankfully less common, with around three cases per thousand people, although outbreaks of the disease have become more frequent in recent years.
Such an increase in the percentage of morbidity with this disease is associated with the food that people eat and its volume.
Initially, an acute increase in the concentration of uric acid in a person's blood leads to the disease. The derivatives of this concentration are transported in the body with the help of the blood and are deposited in the joints, muscles and even organs. Such deposits are dangerous because the infected tissue can be destroyed. An increase in the concentration of this acid is caused by the fact that the kidneys do not have time to process and eliminate from the body its excessively abundant production. Also, the problem can arise due to diseases and dysfunction of the kidneys.
The first symptoms of the disease are joint pain, redness of the big toes and fever. It should be noted a very important point that if you do not go to the doctor at the first symptoms and delay the disease, the affected joint will be completely destroyed, which will lead to disability, and if the organ is destroyed, thenconstant pain and death are possible. That is why it is necessary to take the disease as seriously as possible.
The manifestation of gout directly depends on how and what a person eats and how he or she lives. It is not without reason that gout was previously called the "disease of kings", because an inactive lifestyle, the constant use of fatty and heavy foods, the excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages together cause metabolic problems and, therefore, similar diseases. Therefore, in the treatment of gout, strict adherence to a proper diet and a diet aimed at reducing acid production is considered very important and even the main point. To find out the level of uric acid in the blood, all you need to do is donate blood for analysis.
How to eat well?
The specificity of developing a diet for gout patients is aimed at restoring the metabolism of uric acid in the body. If you don't take urgent action to restore this level, excess acids (sodium urate) are debugged throughout the body, causing widespread inflammation.
In addition to fixing the necessary diet, doctors advise to undergo drug therapy, as well as to persistently engage in physiotherapy procedures. In addition, people with gout are advised to lead a more active lifestyle, walking and exercising in the great outdoors.
Speaking of diet, it should be noted that a necessary step will be the exclusion of a number of contraindicated foods from the diet. When the disease worsens, you cannot eat fish and meat, it is imperative to organize fasting days at least twice a week, and ideally every other day.
Fasting days for a gout patient are:
- Fruit and vegetable. You need to eat one and a half kilograms of fruit per day, which is allowed by the diet.
- Milk and kefir. In this case, the patient should drink up to two liters of this liquid per day.
- Curd and kefir. You need to eat four hundred grams of cottage cheese and drink half a liter of kefir.
Such fasting days are helpful because they help dissolve uric acid in the body and get rid of it. When the exacerbation of the disease subsides, the patient can continue to eat fish and meat, but strictly steamed, boiled or baked. It should be remembered that you need to eat these products no more than three times a week, and not more often.
It is necessary to respect the correct water regime. You should drink about three liters of clean water per day. You need to drink it an hour before meals during an exacerbation of the disease. If there is no exacerbation, the water can be replaced with another liquid, the main thing is that it is natural and fresh. You can also drink alkaline mineral water.
Fasting is contraindicated in gout, in this case the acid level will increase sharply, it is better to eat little, but often.
